The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. They play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, ensuring technical requirements are met, and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager must have a strong technical background and excellent project management skills to drive projects to completion while maintaining high quality and meeting client expectations. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and task dependencies.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Team Coordination and Communication:
Assemble and lead cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders.
Clearly communicate project goals, requirements, and timelines to team members.
Foster a collaborative environment to encourage effective communication and knowledge sharing.
Project Execution and Monitoring:
Track project progress, identify deviations from plans, and take corrective actions as necessary.
Ensure adherence to project milestones, deadlines, and quality standards.
Manage project resources, including budget, time, and team capacity.
Technical Oversight:
Work closely with technical leads and developers to ensure the project's technical requirements are met.
Provide guidance on technical solutions, architecture, and best practices.
Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards and quality assurance processes are followed.
Stakeholder Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
Conduct regular status meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders.
Manage expectations and address concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and project management methodologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a software project manager, preferably with a technical background.
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and project management principles.
Proficiency in project management tools, collaboration software, and version control systems.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in software development or software engineering is highly desirable.
