Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

POSITION OVERVIEW

A private, multi-generational family office is seeking a detail-oriented and technically adept Controller/Sr Tax Director to oversee the daily financial operations supporting the family’s personal, philanthropic, and investment interests. This role involves hands-on accounting, cash flow oversight, and reporting across a variety of entities, including trusts, foundations, LLCs, and estates. The Controller/Sr Tax Director will report to the head of the family office and serve as a vital link between internal stakeholders and external advisors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the general ledger, accounting records, and financial reporting for multiple entities
• Lead cash flow tracking, capital planning, and liquidity forecasts
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and investment performance summaries
• Coordinate tax reporting and support quarterly estimates, in partnership with external advisors
• Maintain trust and estate financial schedules, and assist with compliance and filings
• Support audits, reviews, and annual reporting for personal and investment entities
• Oversee insurance coverage and risk management across family holdings
• Serve as liaison to legal, tax, and wealth advisors, ensuring consistent and accurate communication
• Improve accounting systems, controls, and workflow efficiencies within the office

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA required; strong technical background in accounting and financial operations
• Experience in public accounting tax or audit , working with high net worth individuals and/or families. Would also consider those with investment management industry experience.
• Experience preparing or reviewing trust and estate tax returns is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with partnership accounting and private wealth structures
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High integrity and discretion in handling confidential personal and financial data
• Strong analytical mindset with comfort in managing complexity
