Senior Accountant Position Overview The Senior Accountant, External/SEC Reporting position serves a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of external financial information for Halliburton. Position works closely with the Investor Relations department to support the preparation of earnings releases, Corporate presentations and other material presented to securities analysts, investors and industry groups.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties: - Successfully collaborate with the External Reporting team to ensure completion of tasks and responsibilities
- Compile and prepare analyses, schedules, and data for the Company's 10-Q/K filings, utilizing SEC filing software (Workiva), as well as provide some detail reviews
- Prepare the Company's Earnings Release (8-K) and/or Earnings Call Script on a quarterly basis, including supporting workpapers
- Perform, research, and resolve activities involving complex accounting reports with associated accounting analyses and related internal controls
- Interact and communicate with other departments and business units to resolve financial related issues
- Create, update, and/or review supporting schedules for the preparation of financial statements and disclosures
- Prepare disclosure checklists under generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (GAAP) and other applicable standards, such as MD&A
- Participate in the completion of eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) for SEC filings utilizing Workiva
- Assist in the review of Company's Proxy and other public presentations such as press releases and investor presentations
- Coordinate audit requests with external and internal auditors
- Initiate and/or participate in other routine and non-routine functions as requested by management, including ad-hoc requests, various government surveys, process improvements, and ongoing projects
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting related roles required. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or related field. Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles required
- CPA license (at minimum actively pursuing or parts passed)
Qualifications - Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or other related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting related roles
- Experience with preparation of SEC filings required
- Willingness to work overtime, as necessary, during filing periods to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently under general guidance
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Pro
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Reporting

- Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate successfully with team members and others in the organization
A plus, but not required: - Workiva experience highly preferred
- Large or global company experience
- Previous industry and public accounting experience
- XBRL knowledge
- HFM/SAP/Essbase
