Join Our Team as a Mother-Baby Nurse!

Position Highlights:

• Unit Overview:
  • Deliver approximately 1,300 babies each year!
  • 18 Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) Rooms
  • 10 Antepartum/Postpartum Rooms
  • 5 Triage Rooms
  • 2 Operating Rooms
  • 7 Level II Nursery Rooms
• Patient Population:
  • Providing Women and Children’s services to families throughout Central Illinois
  • Level II Nursery with neonatology services
• Nurse to Patient Ratio:
  • Our Nursing Care Committee collaborates to establish patient acuity-based guidelines for staffing levels, ensuring optimal care through evidence-based practices.
• Department Culture:

• Nursing Skills & Equipment:
  • Provide direct, individualized nursing care based on scientific principles.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for both mother and infant.
  • Support mothers in their breastfeeding journey and educate families on best practices.

Qualifications

• Certifications:
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • College Diploma in Nursing
• Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care to ensure seamless integration of information.
• Conduct initial assessments upon patient admission and develop tailored care plans.
• Implement and continuously evaluate nursing interventions and modify care plans as needed.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting and addressing hazards.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
• Provide care to inpatient obstetric patients, monitor fetal well-being, and administer medications.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $31.65 - $54.44 per hour . This range reflects our commitment to fair compensation based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
