Position Summary:
The MAC Director leads, plans, directs and implements overall strategies for all marketing and communications on behalf of Saint Marys High School in order to raise visibility, advance our brand and articulate clear messaging to internal and external constituencies. The Director oversees and actively participates in the creation, design, budget and production of regularly produced events and all school publications. Additionally, the Director Coordinates all advertising, publicity, and public relations.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The MAC Director is responsible for representing and marketing the school to parents, prospective parents and the community in order to bring in new students. This includes managing the recruiting/admission process up to the application portion.
The MAC Director receives direction from the Presidents various Committees which guides the marketing, recruiting and admissions processes. The MAC committee consists of Admissions Coordinator, and Marketing Assistant/Event Coordinator. The MAC Director is responsible for directing and leading the team to maximize efforts of all team members and to employ strengths of each member.
The MAC Director leads the marketing team and oversees all marketing material including print material, online advertisements, website, and all school wide communication. The MAC will give direction and support to the MAC team members for the marketing of admissions events, school events, and all general school marketing.
Director runs all marketing for recruiting events and must coordinate details of events including content, set up, refreshments etc. MAC Director directs team members to support in all recruiting events.
MARKETING, RECRUITING, AND COMMUNICATIONS
- Develop and implement marketing and parent retention plan
- Research and initiate opportunities to attract new students through networking and marketing
- Develop and implement efforts toward public relations
GENERAL RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION
Build network of relationships with outside institutions or groups (schools, churches, civic associations) that can be helpful in attracting quality students;
Develop relationships with feeder schools.
Gain the respect and trust of parents and other parties and provide a positive influence in their decision-making process for admission;
MANAGE MAC TEAM TOWARD GOALS SET IN THESE DISCIPLINES
Manage all school and event communications
Manage the schools website
ADMISSION MANAGEMENT
Manage the admissions process from inquiry to application includes activities such as:
Follow up with inquiries and drawing them to visit the school
Schedule and conduct tours and 8th grade parent night
Follow up with visitors and encouraging them to apply
Help families through the admissions process, up to completing application
Secure and track necessary documentation for applications
Communicate admissions decisions to applicants and encourage them to enroll
Work with new families to integrate them into the school.
Maintain and improve school relationship with Saint Marys Families
Data management regarding applications, inquiries, applicants, and attrition. Daily updates on applications are to be communicated to the President and, periodically, to the Board.
Qualifications:
A BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to marketing and communications; an advanced degree is preferred OR seven to ten years of increased leadership experience in marketing and communications, preferably in an independent school or other non-profit organization
Deep knowledge of the principles of marketing and communications and fluency in using social media effectively.
Ability to monitor, and adhere to budgets and production schedules.
Ability to create print materials using Adobe Creative Suite, or other comparable software.
Demonstrated success in bringing regular, positive media attention to an organization.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.
Demonstrated success in supervising and managing a staff.
Experience in Marketing and Sales preferred.
Experience in mass communications
Experience in digital asset management and CMS (Content Management Systems)
Credible profession of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ
Godly character, as demonstrated by character reference(s).
Member or regular attendee of a local church.
Well spoken, with excellent grammar, diction, vocabulary.
Understanding of, and agreement with the mission and philosophy of Saint Marys High School.
Ability to explain Saint Marys mission and vision in a compelling way.
Maturity and emotional stability.
Discreet. Able to keep sensitive information about applicants and families completely confidential.
Ability to lead, manage, and direct a team, make decisions and communicate clearly.
Willing to think strategically and innovate to develop admissions and retention efforts.
Organized and detail oriented for event planning.
