Job Description

About Us

Bearworks is a venture-backed seed-stage startup based in NYC. Our platform helps sales teams make outbound calls more efficiently, sharpen their pitches faster, and uncover valuable insights from their conversations. We use React and Vite for the frontend, Python and FastAPI for the backend, and AWS for infra and hosting.

Our founding team has built and scaled a $500M+ business and been part of leading startups like Datadog, Crunchyroll, and Surveymonkey. We’re building a team of builders and problem-solvers — and we’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an early-career (1–3 years) engineer who’s excited to dive in, take ownership, and ramp up quickly. Initially, the core of this role will be supporting our customers and keeping things running smoothly. Over time, you’ll begin contributing directly to building new features for our platform. As you gain experience, there will be opportunities to explore new directions and shape your own path forward.

You’ll be joining a small, fast-moving team, so a solid grasp of modern software development fundamentals is important—we’re looking for someone who can work independently and hit the ground running on the basics. That said, we’re committed to helping you ramp up and develop your skills as part of the team.

What You'll Do

  • Own day-to-day technical support across email, Slack, and video for customers
  • Troubleshoot product bugs, API issues, browser problems, and integrations (like CRMs or dialers)
  • Act as a bridge between customers and engineering — logging bugs, reproducing edge cases, and helping prioritize fixes
  • Assist new customers with setup, onboarding, and lightweight implementation tasks
  • Write internal and customer-facing documentation to scale support and reduce friction
  • Contribute to tools, scripts, or dashboards that help automate common support issues (bonus if you can write some Python or SQL)

What We're Looking For:

  • 1-3 years full-time in a customer-facing technical role (support, success, solutions engineering, or implementation)
  • Basic coding/debugging skills in Python or JavaScript — you’re not afraid to open dev tools or test an API
  • Familiarity with Git and related tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, some CI/CD) to manage a large codebase with multiple collaborators
  • Some experience writing unit tests with a mainstream testing framework like Jest or Pytest
  • Clear communicator — both written and verbal — who knows how to talk to both engineers and customers
  • Strong bias for action, curiosity, and ownership — you enjoy digging in and figuring things out
  • Bonus: Experience in sales tech, startup environments, or tools like Segment, Zapier, HubSpot, or Twilio
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leveraging modern AI technologies
  • Experience writing help center articles, Loom walkthroughs, or internal playbooks
  • Experience with a VOIP provider like Twilio or Vonage
  • Experience with Android ADB or iOS tooling
  • Some inferential stats knowledge (e.g. can you pick the correct statistical test to compare two sample populations?)
  • Signal processing experience (e.g. can you write some code to detect a fixed-pitch tone in an audio stream?)
  • Previous experience working closely with product or engineering teams

What We Offer:

  • Flexible hours, a competitive salary, or contract retainer
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible remote work days
  • Flexible PTO
  • A small, supportive team that moves quickly
  • Opportunity to grow into a full-time role in support, success, or product and build with the cutting-edge of AI
