Job Description

We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair advanced materials testing systems across a range of industries. In this highly mobile role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their testing equipment operates at peak performance and complies with relevant standards.

This role requires both independent and collaborative work in the field, providing hands-on technical service, calibration, software training, and troubleshooting for a variety of mechanical, electromechanical, and automated testing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and repair both standard and specialized materials testing systems including robotic testing equipment, temperature chambers, torsion systems, and complex medical testing devices.
  • Calibrate testing systems in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025).
  • Train customers on machine operations, test methods, and proprietary software.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and electromechanical components using schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Provide technical advice and customer support both in-person and remotely.
  • Lead relocation projects, large-scale installations, and serve in a project management capacity as needed.
  • Prepare detailed calibration and service reports and maintain documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience troubleshooting high-voltage electrical systems and hydraulics.
  • Prior experience in metrology or calibration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a technical discipline is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 80%).
